Last night I spoke at the American Association of University Women's group at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain, MI. It was a delightful evening. The women made me feel very welcome and I sold 8 books!! If I had the time, I would definitely join this club. Being politically savy, they do a lot of very important work for women in the community and nationally. The best part was when they talked about the books they've read. Of course, I loved that. The food was outstanding! When I was told we would be having vegetarian meatloaf, I was not at all thrilled, but was surprised by how good it tasted and it was good for me too.
Thanks Monique Lopez, the reporter. I hope you like the book.
It was my first public speaking engagement so I'm sure I have work to do on perfecting my presentation. My editor-in-cheif made notes. Therefore my presentation at the Iron Mountain library tomorrow night should be even better. Practice makes perfect. Don't we writers know that!
The best part of the presentation for me was when we were talking about reviews. One of the women had Googled the book and pulled up the reviews. for The Word of a Liar on Amazon. I asked her to read the worst review, which she did and that got a chuckle from the group. I then explained how that bad review from Susan Clark made me a sale. I suggested to the women who bought the book to do a review. Good or bad, it helps get me noticed. Thanks for reading....Sally
